Rider training in Ontario

TrainingThere are many opportunities to get professional training for motorcyclists. Most in Ontario are designed to meet requirements for drivers' licensing upgrades to M2, or for more experienced riders, to M. This site is designed to give information about Ontario's Graduated Licensing for motorcyclists, and about other training options.

The M2

The most popular experience! A successful weekend - 17 hours and about 70 kilometers - of highly personal training at a closed course earns an M2 licence and a certificate qualifying you for insurance reductions. You will be encouraged to ride any of our bikes of many exciting models that you can safely handle. Extra practise time is given for free retesting as necessary. Prerequisites are basic bicycle skills, basic riding gear, and an M1 temporary permit from MTO's DriveTest. Our graduates are invited to StreetProofing gratis. Ask about midweek and 'midnight madness' scheduling options. The fee is $399 - ask about special rates at some times and locations in Ontario.

The M

Ten hours of advanced training for on-street motorcycle handling will hone your situational awareness for M licence testing. We are confident that you will beat the 20 kilometer test in traffic - a free retest if we fail to bring you to that standard on the first test. You supply a street-legal motorcycle and riding equipment. A prerequisite is that you have been licensed under M2 conditions for at least a year and a half. The fee is $299 at most locations in Ontario.

Get Your Feet Wet at The Beach : Learn to Ride!

If you ride a bicycle well, you can ride a motorcycle! Three hours of close coaching on our motorcycles at our Beaches campus in Toronto can get a first-timer riding. We can help with the necessary gear. Those completing this event will be offered preferential rates to earn an M2 licence. Work with wonderful Honda CBR125 bikes, and several other models too. Check out a Kawasaki Ninja 250, and Honda's new CBR250. The fee is $149.

StreetProofing

An evening for M2-licensed riders as an introduction to group riding on the street, and a preparation for M licensing. M licensed riders who want a sociable refresher in precise bike handling will also find this useful. Your own bike is required. The fee is $99. Graduates of the Learning Curves licensing programs are invited at no fee.

Advanced Rider Training : ART School

Ready for more? Consider a day of coached technical riding on a closed course and on the street. Precision riding, accelerated handling, and track-preparatory skills development will be tailored to you and the group. Those completing this event will be invited to take part in racetrack training events. Your own bike is required. The fee is $149. Contact us for group rates.

At My Own Speed

You need a customized schedule for an individual or a group. We can accommodate your own specialized vehicle needs, on-site special events, and personalized schedules. Fees are negotiable.
